A new Silent Hill game titled Silent Hill: The Short Message has been rated in South Korea. For years, there has been speculation for the revival of Konami's iconic survival horror franchise Silent Hill, which has remained dormant since Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima's departure from the studio and the subsequent cancelation of Silent Hills. Recent rumors have implied that there will be multiple titles, including a remake of Silent Hill 2 from The Medium studio Bloober Team. Now, it appears that the first major indication of Silent Hill's return has appeared, and it seems imminent.
A listing for a new Silent Hill title has been discovered on the website for The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea's website, however, it appears to have now been edited to hide the title of the project. The listing was first reported by Gematsu, who revealed that the listing for the game was originally titled Silent Hill: The Short Message. The publisher is listed as Uniana, a company known for publishing other Konami games such as eFootball 2023 in Korea, though no platforms or other details were listed for the mysterious new Silent Hill title. The rating does list the title as a video game release, however.
