Sony’s new revamped PlayStation Plus is only about a week away for some territories and a month away for most of them. To get ahead of this, the company announced “some” of the games that will be hitting the service at launch. As promised, it includes titles from all PlayStation generations except for the Vita and certain games only apply to certain tiers of the service.
The PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium (also called Deluxe in some territories) tiers will have the following PlayStation 4 an PlayStation 5 games. Most are PS4 games, but there are a select few PS5 games, as well.
Sony did say that its list only had some of the games and Ubisoft followed up by revealing a handful more on its own website that will hit on day one. Ubisoft plans to have 50 of its classic titles by the end of 2022 on its Ubisoft+ Classics lineup, which is a subsection of Ubisoft+ that will come to both Ubisoft+ subscribers and PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. New PS4 and PS5 games will also be cycled in at the beginning of each month.
PlayStation Premium will also get a slew of older games, too, and Sony confirmed a few theories about them in the process of revealing its list. Some will have improved frame rates and higher resolutions. A handful of select PS1 and PSP games will also have a new user interface that will allow users to save at any time and rewind, much like the older titles offered in Nintendo Switch Online. Those who have also digitally purchased select classics games being offered in the subscription will also not have to sign up for PlayStation Plus or make a separate purchase to play them on PS4 or PS5.
