July is almost here, which means a whole new slate of shows and movies to watch on Peacock. Some of the content is available starting on July 1, while other shows and movies will be available a little later next month.
Among the content that is available right away on July 1 are the initial Batman film franchise and the whole decade-long run of films in the Harry Potter franchise. Both franchises have had a real uptick of discussion lately. For the Batman movies, Michael Keaton--who is reprising his role as Batman in The Flash later this year--spoke back in January about why he wound up leaving the franchise on 1995's Batman Forever. Director Tim Burton, similarly, discussed his reactions to the Batman film franchise since he last worked on it and was edged out in 1992--and had some choice words for the decision afterwards to add nipples to the Batsuit. Although others may disagree, current Batman Robert Pattinson, more recently, argued that no Batman movie is «actually bad.»
For Harry Potter, there's been a lot of discussion on how the Fantastic Beasts series of films have ultimately become a disappointing offshoot. In its opening weekend back in April, The Secrets of Dumbledore earned $43 million--the lowest of all time for any Harry Potter film. Which is to say--right out of the gate, Peacock has a strong dose of nostalgia to reconnect with the starts of two still iconic film franchises.
Below is a list of all the content coming to Peacock in July.
