Several characters and features from the most recent game in the series also appear in the film.

Freddy Fazbear (and all his terrifying friends) are headed to the big screen with Five Nights At Freddy's, a feature film based on the popular horror game scheduled to arrive in theaters later this year. Though the film's release is still a few months away, Universal Pictures is giving audiences an early peek at the live-action thriller via a new trailer.
With a story by Five Nights At Freddy's developer Scott Cawthon, the film seems very similar to the game franchise upon which it is based. The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson stars as Mike Schmidt, a single father who takes on an extra job as a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, a once-popular family establishment known for its band of animatronic animals. The film seems to be sticking closely to the source material, with the game's animatronics--and even its infamous cupcake--appearing in the trailer with next to no alterations to their appearance.
But the film isn't an exact replica of the game. In the original game, the player-character spent their nights monitoring security cams alone. The film, however, sees the protagonist bringing along his young daughter Abby to work with him.
«I will work, and you will sleep,» Mike is seen telling his daughter in the new trailer.
Of course, chaos ensues and sleep is nowhere to be found. At one point, YouTuber CoryxKenshin--known in part for his love of the franchise--makes a cameo in the film's trailer, though it's unclear if his character will play a significant role in the film.
Interestingly, the trailer also contains nods to other, more recent entries in the Five Nights franchise--especially Five Nights At
