When playing a single-player game, one thing that is sure to break the immersion for any player is when non-playable characters behave in a way that do not seem realistic or intelligent. Not that all NPCs need to be perfect in terms of how they react, but there are some video games that do have decent AI systems, and they make them work. But nobody's perfect, and while Fallout 4 does have some good artificial intelligence for its Boston residents, this one modder felt that it needed a bit of an overhaul.
Uploading the file to Nexus Mods recently, user SpiderAkiraC has made some changes to the AI features for Fallout 4, which, among other things, changes the «dull» ways that NPCs behave in the game. One of the changes the mod brings is to insert custom markers and idles, as well as adjustments to «social and sandbox» AI that's inherent in the core gaming system. On top of this, the creator has also incorporated reactions when it comes to weather, so during harsh conditions, such as Rad storms, NPCs will seek shelter rather than just stand about getting slowly irradiated.

SpiderAkiraC even released a short video, which gives a quick insight into the mod in action. During one segment of the trailer, residents of Diamond City are seen running towards one of Fallout's notoriously brutish Deathclaw enemies. There's then a comparative clip showing that, rather than running headfirst into the creature regardless of fighting skill, most of the characters will actively run away for safety.
