The first season of the show was a huge success, with the premise captivating fans. They watched as some couples found love, while others found themselves in relationships that crashed and burned. Jessica Batten and Mark Cuevas's relationship drew fans in, as the show painted Jessica as the villain who broke Mark's heart. It was clear she wanted to end up with Barnett, but he was with Amber Pike, so she settled for Mark. In the end, she left Mark heartbroken at the altar. She claimed the biggest issue was their 10 year age difference.
