Besides the usual patch-to-patch mount additions, Patch 10.1 may add a different mount that players have been asking for a while.
This is just a datamining preview and doesn't mean this mount will be added with 10.1 or any other patch. One of the new mount models added with Patch 10.1 is a model that has been requested for quite some time. The model in question is the model of Tarecgosa's Visage, currently only used when using the special effect from Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest. This addition could mean that Blizzard is looking into making the staff's special effect into an actual mount in 10.1 or later. Currently, this model points to «Mount #1727», which isn't a valid entry in the mount journal but sits between other 10.1 mounts.
NEW Mount #1727This new mount model addition was added with the first Patch 10.1 PTR build and currently doesn't have a respective mount journal entry. Copying a character to the PTR with the Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa's Rest legendary staff doesn't grant anything either. Note that many mounts have models added and never become actual mounts. So while this isn't a guarantee, it is a sign that the mount is on Blizzard's mind currently. It may also mean that there will be something else in play to earn the mount, as many other «secret» mounts like The Hivemind weren't added until players on live servers unlocked them.
