Japanese games giant Capcom has reported that its net sales for the nine months ending December 31st are down 16.3 per cent year-on-year.
The company has reported ¥88.9 billion ($574 million) in net sales for the period, while operating income dipped 35 per cent to ¥31 billion ($200 million). Ordinary income was down 36.5 per cent to ¥31.4 billion ($203.2 million).
Capcom blames this dip it not having a title in its stable for the year that could match Street Fighter 6. All in, the company has shifted 30.5 million units for the first nine months of FY 24/25, but has hopes that the launch of the eagerly-awaited Monster Hunter Wilds will help right the ship when it comes out in February.
Back catalog was up year-on-year, however, rising from 26.7 million units to 28.61 million.
Despite what appears to be a negative set of metrics, Capcom is seemingly confident that it will still be more profitable than it was last financial year.
