NBA 2K23 - What's In Every Edition
Pre-orders are available for the most recent game in the NBA 2K series, NBA 2K23. Although the game isn't set to release until early September, fans of the franchise can at least start looking into its different editions to figure out which is best for them. There are five unique editions of NBA 2K23, and each comes with distinct benefits as well as pre-order bonuses. It's also worth noting that not all editions are available across every platform. The Digital Deluxe edition ofNBA 2K23, for example, can't be purchased on the Nintendo Switch, but the Standard Edition can.
The pre-orders for NBA 2K23 officially opened on July 7, a couple of days after a teaser trailer gave NBA 2K fans a first glimpse at the latest title. The NBA 2K23 cover athletes were also revealed around that time. The NBA 2K series has come under fire in recent years, especially from longtime supporters of the franchise. Short development windows and an increase in microtransactions have led to what many players believe to be a decline in quality. The series even faced a lawsuit in March 2022 over its inclusion of loot boxes. In addition, the short production window on each NBA 2K game has led to a lack of substantial improvements from year to year. Fans who enter with high expectations often feel let down when they receive a product very similar to last year's title.
