Nate's gray hair returns in the first image from Ted Lasso season 3. Portrayed by Nick Mohammed, Nathan Shelley began Apple TV+'s hit series as AFC Richmond's kit man and was soon taken under Ted Lasso's (Jason Sudeikis) wing to become an assistant coach for the football club. Due to his passion for the game, Nate finds a lot of success early on, much of which goes to his head and causes his relationship with Ted and Coach Beard (Brendan Hunt) to sour.
Ted Lasso wrapped another successful season this past fall. After a quick turnaround, Sudeikis and his creative team, which includes other stars like Hunt and Brett Goldstein, began working on the third season, which creator Bill Lawrence says could be the end of Ted Lasso in its current form. At the end of season 2, it is revealed that Nate has accepted a job as the coach of West Ham United, the club owned by Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), the former owner of AFC Richmond who lost ownership of the club to his ex-wife, Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), during their divorce settlement.
