The latest update for MultiVersus has gotten rid of Velma's police car. MultiVersus launched last month to mostly positive reviews, with many praising the game as a solid free-to-play alternative to Super Smash Bros. Developer Player First Games has released multiple updates for MultiVersus since launch, tweaking the game's balance, introducing new stages, and adding new characters to the roster. The latest MultiVersus update, besides getting rid of Velma's police car, also added Gizmo from Gremlins to the lineup.
Velma has been a part of the MultiVersus roster since launch. One of the game's few Support characters, Velma is an incredibly dangerous fighter in the right hands. One of the more unique aspects of her character is how Velma is able to collect «clues» that are dropped around the stage to fill up a meter. Prior to the latest update, filling up the meter let Velma call the police on her opponents. A cop car would then spawn into the game, pick up whoever Velma targeted the attack at, and then try to drive off the stage with the opponent in tow.

Velma's cop car didn't really create much controversy in the grand scheme of things, but some fans still saw it in bad taste. In any case, Player First Games has decided to get rid of Velma's cop car with the latest MultiVersus update, but her special move remains in the game. Instead of Velma calling the cops on her opponents, though, she now summons the Mystery Machine, which is more appropriate for her character anyway, and gives the game even more Scooby-Doo representation.
