Video calling platform Zoom has rolled out a Memoji-like Avatar feature that allows users to conduct video calls and webinars using an animated Avatar similar to the one available on Apple devices. Surely, Zoom calls are set to be more fun and exciting!
"Avatars are an easy and entertaining way to engage with attendees and create a bit of fun,” said a Zoom official. This new Avatar feature will help users who do not want to appear on camera, but still want to express body language and facial expressions.
You can select the avatar effect that you want to apply from the available options.
"Images of your face do not leave your device when using this feature, and they are not stored or sent to Zoom," the company said. The feature is accessible for both Zoom meetings and webinars and doesn’t require sending images of the user’s face to Zoom. The feature is currently being rolled out to Windows, macOS and iOS devices, while Zoom desktop client or mobile app needs to be running version 5.10.0 or higher to access this feature.
