Throughout its history, PlayStation has become well-known for its large and loyal collection of masterful game developers. Studios like Naughty Dog and Insomniac have contributed greatly to the success of each PlayStation generation, with titles ranging from 1990s classics like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon up to modern masterpieces like The Last of Us and Marvel's Spider-Man. Many of Sony's first-party studios emphasize narrative-focused single-player experiences, like God of War or Horizon Forbidden West, but the company also owns more tech-focused teams like PC port designer Nixxes Software and animation support studio Malaysia Studio. PlayStation's purchase of Halo developer Bungie rocked the gaming world back in January, though the studio's games will reportedly remain multi-platform.
