With the closure of Telltale Games in 2018, it looked like a sequel to its beloved 2013 game, The Wolf Among Us, would never happen. But forces have conspired to grant the world a sequel, even though details have been scarce up until now. But, this week, we’re set to get a further glimpse into the game to see what’s in store. Today, Geoff Keighley tweeted that he’s hosting a behind-the-scenes stream for The Wolf Among Us 2, which will no doubt grab the attention of series fans eager to learn every last new detail about the upcoming game.
If you’re itching to jump into the stream, you’ll be able to find it on Twitch and YouTube this Wednesday. The stream is set to kick off at 10 AM PT on February 9, so we have less than two days to go until we get a look at what the game has on offer. No game details are included in the tweet beyond a semi-animated video showing a postcard accompanied by falling snow. The postcard simply reads, “Greetings from… Fabletown. Tune in February 9, 2022.” The postcard depicts a snowy street outside a pizza place, so there’s not much to glean here, although eagle-eyed fans might be able to spot something I didn’t.
The game is being developed in collaboration between the revitalized Telltale Games built out of the old one’s branding and licenses, and AdHoc Studio, which is staffed, in part, by former Telltale devs. The sequel is set to continue the story following the first game, but will continue to act as a prequel to the Fables comic. AdHoc will apparently be handling the cinematic and narrative aspects of the game, while folks at Telltale will focus on everything else. Here’s to hoping the upcoming stream sheds some light on The Wolf Among Us 2.
