Minecraft Fan Builds Skyrim’s Jorrvaskr Mead Hall from Whiterun

As far as success stories go, they don't get much bigger than Minecraft. Totaling hundreds of millions of sales since releasing in 2009, with this number increasing all the time, Mojang's open-world title has gone down as one of the highest-grossing video games ever. It's hardly surprising really, seeing as it enables so much creativity, affording players the chance to build whatever project or construction comes to mind, with relaxing music to accompany them. Sometimes fans go one step further and recreate something from another game.

That's what Reddit user Single_Cantaloupe_34 has done. Uploading a single image to the Skyrim forum, this person has shown off their build of a very recognizable building from Bethesda's game, as reimagined in Minecraft. Specifically, they've done their own blocky version of the overturned longship Jorrvaskr. Given its unique shape, it has a very distinctive look and fans of the 2011 RPG will immediately be able to distinguish it.

Minecraft Player Mines the Entire Map

For those who are not as familiar with the game, Jorrvaskr is located in Skyrim's Whiterun city. Players encounter this during the Companions side quest. The Companions are a band of warriors who have formed a faction in the city and essentially act as this game's version of the Fighters Guild, a staple in The Elder Scrolls series. What's interesting about Jorrvaskr is that it's the oldest building in Whiterun. Single_Cantaloupe_34 has done an excellent job of Minecraft-ifying it, and one person in the comments has suggested using this as a reference point to build the rest of the city around it.
