Pack it up, it’s all over. Following a wild few years of fighting game DLC characters, from The Walking Dead’s Negan and Final Fantasy‘s Noctis to The Terminator, RoboCop, and Rambo, developer Project Lumina has decided to take it one step too far. The irrepressible, unstoppable, unavoidable meme nightmare Neco-Arc is headed to the roster of Melty Blood: Type Lumina.
Neco-Arc, the bizarrely drawn parody mascot of the Tsuskihime franchise, has finally decided the time is right to take her pint-sized form and terrifying, oversized eyes into the ring, where she will square off against the mystical maidens of Melty Blood. According to the developer, Neco’s fighting style will be entirely “luck” based, with special moves and skills breaking out with seemingly random effects. Of course, her tiny bod will also aid her in regards to having an equally tiny hurt box.

On the slightly more serious side, Type Lumina is getting a more “traditional” DLC character in the form of demi-servant Mash Kyrielight. Kyrielight — accompanied by her enormous, intricate Shield of Galahad — has been designed as a beginner character, harnessing a fistful of easy-to-understand moves and a strong but defensive playstyle… She isn’t hauling around that huge shield just for show, after all.
