Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is a dark fantasy, mystery game that is being co-developed by Spike Chunsoft and Too Kyo Games, with the former also publishing it. The game follows new characters in a new setting for players to experience. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code is set in a city of unending rain, which is described as a «corporate-controlled metropolis» with many unsolved cases that are investigated by Master Detectives with their own unique powers who come from all around the world.

The game was originally called Enigma Archives: Rain Code, but it was eventually renamed to the current title. The new trailer covers the basics of the game's premise while showcasing the core gameplay elements that will be featured. Master Detective Archives: Rain Code has players take on the role of Yuma, an amnesiac detective-in-training who investigates cases with a jovial spirit that's haunting him called Shinigami. Together, the duo investigate various cases throughout the perpetually raining city.
