Marvin the Martian and a Game of Thrones stage have been confirmed for Season 2 of MultiVersus, developer Player First games has confirmed.
The free-to-play Warner Bros Games fighter launched its first season on August 15, and had already confirmed before it started that Rick and Morty would be coming as playable characters.
However, by the time Season 2 had started yesterday, no fighters had been confirmed and the new Season 2 banner for the game only showed existing characters.
This has now been remedied with a news post on the official MultiVersus website, which confirms that Marvin the Martian is coming “soon”.
Although no further information was given about Marvin, MultiVersus dataminer LaisulMV was able to find his moveset following the release of the Season 2 update, posting it on Twitter.
Based on this leaked moveset it appears that Marvin will focus mainly on projectile attacks, and is armed with a blaster, a pistol and the ability to fire bubble projectiles.
Also officially announced on the news post was a new stage based on Game of Thrones, containing “all the hazards and pitfalls you’d come to expect from the land of Westeros” and a remix of the Game of Thrones theme which dynamically changes depending on what’s happening on-screen.
Although Marvian the Martian is the only character confirmed for Season 2 to date, there will be more to follow, as Player First Games describes him as “one of the new characters who will be joining the MultiVersus roster in Season 2”.
While Rick and Morty were confirmed when Season 1 originally launched, they were later followed by other characters who hadn’t been announced at the same time, including Gizmo and Stripe from Gremlins, and DC antihero Black Adam.
