Marvel Entertainment continues to produce beloved and popular IPs that feature its iconic cast of colorful characters. Yesterday, Marvel teased its newest game in an animated cinematic that featured America Chavez, Ironheart, and Venom in a battle with Doombots.
The teaser revealed publisher Nuverse and developer Second Dinner, a team comprised of former Hearthstone developers, in partnership with Marvel. The only clues to what this title could be were a title card that read «Oh Snap» and a splash graphic of countless character names from all across Marvel media. This teaser's animation and art style urged fans to believe it was a new mobile title of some sort, and today's reveal proves that they were correct in their assumption.

In a developer interview, Second Dinner announced its debut title, Marvel Snap, with a deep-dive into its features. Firstly, Marvel Snap is described as a 1v1 multiplayer collectible card game. Marketed as the fastest collectible card game, «each game is about three minutes» as both competitors play simultaneously. Players can then «snap» with Cosmic Cubes and double-down to increase their stakes if they believe they will win. The developers seem ecstatic to share Marvel Snap with fans, and it looks like a lot of love was put into it.
Matches are played over three locations, such as the Hellfire Club, Wakanda, and Hala, with modifiers applied to each location. Then, victory is claimed if a player can win two out of the three locations. Each superhero and supervillain card features distinct artistic variants; for example, a card for the Lizard could have a pixel-art variant, a variant that features iconic art from his appearance
