Every day, players are provided a five-letter word to solve, with six attempts to figure out what it is based on the context and remaining letters. The influence of Wordle's simple and fun concept has seen widespread viral success. With the game being so simple, it allows for a quick pickup and play session that players don't need to dedicate too much time to.
It's no surprise then to see with the rampant success, the game is quite popular in the United States. With Wordle's free to play nature, it allows for many players to get into it quickly, not restricted by a paywall or anything else like that. By the end of 2021, there were hundreds of thousands of players that have been hooked onto this concept. Wordle creator Josh Wardle has explained in the past he designed the game to be fun first, and that seems to have paid off. This map was put together by the education website schoolauthority.org based on a variety of data. The site tracks geotagged tweets across Twitter, hashtags, and direct keywords and player results from Wordle itself. Over 2 million tweets were tracked this way and calculated which States had the most activity with Wordle. This is all compiled in the map provided by the website.
