How far would you go to get your dream job? A man has applied 40 times to get his dream job at Google. His story is inspiring people online. The man named Tyler Cohen applied at the tech giant not once or twice, but a whopping 40 times and he finally landed the job after 39 rejections from the company. Cohen has shared the screenshot of all his email communication with Google, and the final offer that he received on July 19 on LinkedIn. Cohen currently lives in San Francisco and worked as Associate Manager - Strategy & Ops at DoorDash.
Sharing his story on LinkedIn, he wrote, "There's a fine line between perseverance and insanity. I'm still trying to figure out which one I have. 39 rejections, 1 acceptance." The post went viral and has been liked by nearly 35,000 people, and nearly 800 users have commented on it.
As per the screenshot of his trail mails to and from Google shared by him, he applied for the first time on August 25, 2019 but was rejected. He didn't give up and applied again for a position in September 2019 and got rejected again. The screenshot further shows that Cohen applied again after eight months from September 2019 i.e, in June 2020 during Covid pandemic. He kept on applying but got rejected every time until Jul 19, 2022 when he finally got an offer from the tech giant.
While Cohen's achievement has impressed many users on LinkedIn and got several congratulatory messages, a few of them criticized him for chasing a company for so long.
