Not long after news that work on a remake of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened was in production, developer Frogwares released a brand-new trailer. While the video sheds a little bit of light on what players can expect, it also shows that the Lovecraft-inspired title is apparently going to have one of the author's most famous characters in Cthulhu.
It should certainly come as no surprise that Frogwares is once again going to the Sherlock Holmes well. After all, the company didn't even let the invasion of its home-country in Ukraine by Russian forces to stop it from releasing a Nintendo Switch port of Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter. The company is well known at this point as being the company that deals with the video game version of the famed detective. Now, after the initial announcement that the company was working on the remake, the new video shows off Frogwares' work on a title first seen more than 15 years ago.

The brand-new trailer for Sherlock Homes: The Awakened shows off the rather spooky atmosphere that Holmes and his ever-present sidekick Dr. Watson are traveling through, while apparently being pursued by unnamed men with deadly intentions. As the video goes on, it appears the duo manages to slip away from their enemies, though that might have simply been because the detective and his partner are stumbling on something quite a bit darker and more evil.
As the trailer goes on, the main pursuer, who also happens to be wearing a sheriff's badge, watches the pair row away into the open water and comments that they'll be dead soon enough. This is also where the Lovecraft crossover comes in as the camera pans down under the
