There are many ways in which Peter Jackson’s Lord Of the Rings films differ from the books, and one of the main ways is the duration of the journey between the hobbits leaving the shire and arriving in the Prancing Pony in Bree. In the movies, this is just a short scene or two, due to the limitations of the running time during the visual interpretations but in the original text of the Fellowship of the Ring, there is an entire journey that takes place across several chapters.
