It should be known that if you book more than 6 railway tickets then you will have to link your Aadhaar with IRCTC Account. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has informed that railway passengers are allowed to book up to 12 tickets in a month. "Now users are allowed to book up to 12 tickets in a month, if they get themselves verified through their Aadhaar number along with at least one passenger also being verified through Aadhaar," IRCTC said.
It also informed that no Aadhaar verification is required for booking up to 6 tickets in a month, as earlier and existing facility of booking upto 6 tickets (without Aadhaar) in a month continues. Step 1: Visit the official website of the IRCTC using your web browser or click on the link- www.irctc.co.in.
Step 2: Login on the website and go to MY Account tab and select Link your Aadhaar.
Step 3: Aadhaar KYC page will appear, you will then have to enter your Name as per Aadhar Card, provide Aadhaar Number or virtual ID.
Step 4: Select the checkbox and click on Send OTP button.
Step 5: Provide the OTP received on your Aadhaar registered mobile number and click verify OTP button.
Step 6: KYC response is fetched from Aadhaar. Then you will have to click Update button to complete the Aadhaar verification process.
Step 7: Pop-up window with confirmation message will appear. After that close the window and login again at www.irctc.co.in.
