WARNING: Spoilers for the upcoming Batman #121!
Since DC Comics' Rebirth started, Lex Luthor has assumed the roles of both Batman and Superman. As the conclusion to «Abyss» draws near in the upcoming Batman #121, Lex, along with his new Batsuit, comes face to face with Batman Incorporated, led by Abyss. Between the two of them stands Batman.
At the end of Batman #120 by Joshua Williamson, Jorge Molina, and Mikel Janin, Bruce and Lex Luthor find out Abyss now leads Batman Inc. Abyss wants Bruce to kill Lex, which goes against Batman's ideals. On the other hand, Lex Luthor is the archenemy of one of the Dark Knight's most trusted allies: Superman. Will he team up with Lex or pretend to side with Abyss until he goes too far? Which side will he choose?

Unsurprisingly, Batman resists both extremes. The intro to Batman #121 has Detective Cayha show up in the middle of the confrontation and provide Batman with the backup he needs. Batman Inc. commences its attack on Lex Luthor, and Batman aids Lex in countering the aggressors (for now). Ironically, Lex Luthor helped fund Batman Inc., providing the team with the means to kill him. His aid in Batman Inc. should remind DC Comics fans of his entanglements with Superman clones, which also never go his way. Evidently, Lex Luthor hasn't learned that he can't control his detestable creations when he constantly incorporates heroic aspects in the formula.
The preview ends with Batman stating, «Code: Club of Heroes.» The Club of Heroes was another name for The Batmen of All Nations—a superhero team consisting of different Batmen from different countries. Batman Inc. currently consists of these heroes, meaning
