One of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s less-than-beloved multiplayer maps is not showing up as much for players following the recent Season 2 update. There are a number of maps in the multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that the community has not been fond of, voicing their grievances online. However, the map that COD players undoubtedly hate the most is Border Crossing.
As the map’s title suggests, the environment consists of an abandoned border crossing, complete with empty kiosks and a plethora of abandoned cars. The reasons that this map is so ubiquitously hated range from the seemingly random deaths which can occur due to one of the abandoned cars exploding out of nowhere, to the fact that the fundamental design elements of the map consists of nothing more than a narrow corridor where certain death constantly awaits. The map has also been accused of dragging down Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer as a whole.

Since Modern Warfare 2 saw a massive update take place earlier in the month, players have reported seeing less of this map on various forums and have been thankful for the fact that Infinity Ward is apparently listening to its player base. Some have posited the theory that the algorithm may have been tweaked by the game’s programmers in order to cause the controversial map to appear less frequently.
