If you are learning to drive a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler, having documents like learner's Driving License and RC is mandatory in India. While earlier, it used to be a hectic process and you had to visit the Department of transportation, under Govt of India, now you can get it at the comfort of your home. The Dept. of Transportation has introduced an app called mParivahan, through which you can apply for a learner's driving license or RC. A learning license is necessary to learn to drive legally with someone who owns a permanent driving license. It is the first step to get a permanent driving license. mParivahan is an app that offers several transport services.
You’ll be first required to download mParivahan on your phone from Google Play Store or visit the official website https://parivahan.gov.in/parivahan/.
Go to the online services tab and click on the Driving License related services.
Enter the state name to access the services.
You’ll be redirected to a new page where you will get a number of services. You can tap on any of them as per your need and complete the further process.
If you want to apply for a learner's Driving License then you can tap on the same fill in all the required details carefully. It must be noted that if you’re applying for DL, you must tick the box for the applicant with no driving license issued in India.
Now enter the Aadhaar card details and mobile number, click on the Generate OTP button in the space provided.
Verify your number and proceed for the driving test. Watch a 10 minute driving instruction video and proceed to start the test. You’ll be required to answer at least six questions correctly out of 10 questions to pass the test.
