Kuroko's Basketball is chock-full of talented players, but none quite so gifted as the Generation of Miracles. This elite group of basketball prodigies came together at Teikō Junior High, and the ultimate team was born. There's the unpredictable Aomine, the copycat Kise, the hulking Murasakibara, the accurate Midorima, the phantom Kuroko, and Seijūrō Akashi, their terrifying leader, and oracle.
Akashi is intense, driven and proud. He knows the power of his abilities, and makes sure that those around him know it as well. As captain of the Generation of Miracles and Rakuzan High, Akashi Teikō is undoubtedly a fierce leader. His means of leadership, however, can be interpreted as questionable.

Akashi was born into a wealthy family, as the firstborn son. His father was a strict man who pressured Akashi to achieve excellence, as was his obligation as a member of a noble family. As a young boy, his father imposed rigorous training in everything from music to sport to academics. His mother, on the other hand, was his respite amidst this pressure. She was a kind woman, who introduced basketball to Akashi. She convinced her husband to grant Akashi some free time in between his studies. He showed a gift for basketball, and it made him happy that he got to play in his spare time. His skill level also naturally progressed.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck when Akashi's mother fell sick and passed away while he was in elementary school. His father became even more strict after this. He grew up a very unhappy child.
