Kojima Productions has confirmed the long-running rumor that Elle Fanning will appear in the studio's next game at PAX Australia, finally giving fans the answer to the "Who Am I" poster that was shared last month.
This news comes from popular insider and dataminer Lance McDonald, who reveals that Kojima Productions was teasing a new project during the event. An accompanying QR code next to a billboard directed McDonald to a red image of Elle Fanning with the words "A Hideo Kojima Game x Elle Fanning" written along the side. While it's nice to have confirmation, we all pretty much knew that Elle Fanning was involved the moment Internet sleuths saw the reveal of the poster back in September. People quickly figured out that the silhouette of the woman was probably Elle Fanning, although rumors of Nope and Get Out director Jordan Peele's involvement in the title have yet to be confirmed. It's possible the whole Jordan Peele speculation may have been misinterpreted though, as the director recently appeared on Kojima's new podcast Brain Structure.
Even though we have the answer to who now, we still don't have the answer to what. Kojima Productions has been very secretive regarding its new project, although there are two likely possibilities as to what Elle Fanning could be involved in. For starters, it was recently reported that a sequel to Death Stranding is currently in the works under the codename Ocean, so Fanning could potentially be involved in that.
