The developer of A Plague Tale: Requiem is asking fans not to spoil the plot of the upcoming game. While the developer encourages discussion of the game, they still want players to be able to experience the story for themselves. Taking place during the Hundred Years War and the height of The Black Plague, the first game crossed realistic history with some fantasy elements. The story focused on a brother and sister who attempted to make their way across rat-infested/war-torn France as Inquisitors of the Catholic Church pursued them for unknown reasons. Well received by critics, A Plague Tale: Innocence went on to sell over a million copies worldwide, and a sequel was put into development.

As with the previous game, the upcoming sequel will feature a lot of rats. It had previously been revealed that A Plague Tale: Requiem will have as many as 300,000 rats on screen at once, but actual plot details have remained a bit vague, and the developer wants it to stay that way. In a recent post, the developer of A Plague Tale: Requiem asked that gamers not spoil the story so others may experience the story to its fullest.
