New Kirby and the Forgotten Land screenshots showcase two of the upcoming game’s boss fights, one looks like a twist on a classic, but the other is brand new. The Forgotten Land is the latest installment in the Kirby series, bringing the loveable pink sphere to an explorable 3D world. The most recent trailer for Kirby and the Forgotten Land showed off many of the various copy abilities Kirby will have access to in the game, from classics like Sword and Hammer, along with brand new abilities like Drill and Explosion.
The original announcement of this highly anticipated addition to the Kirby series was announced during a Nintendo Direct last September. Shots of Kirby exploring abandoned ruins in what seems like the ruins of an ancient civilization have inspired fans to wonder what the story is behind this game. Since then new details have arrived showing that there will be cooperative play in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, where the second player plays as the spear-wielding side-character, Bandana Waddle Dee. Although it’s not clear yet if Bandana Waddle Dee will be an independently playable character, or if he will be relegated to playing second fiddle to Kirby the whole time.

In new screenshots posted to Twitter by the official Nintendo of America account, two boss fights from Kirby and the Forgotten Land were shown. First, was a classic twist on the common tree battle from most Kirby games in Tropic Woods. This tree takes the appearance of a palm tree, rather than the classic woodlands style tree.
