As the Nintendo Switch enters its sixth year of support, its library is becoming just as packed as its release in 2017. This is bolstered by plenty of exclusives, such as Mario Strikers: Battle League, Fire Emblem: Three Hopes, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The latter in particular is also releasing around the Kirby franchise's 30th anniversary, with plenty of new projects regarding the franchise also being promised in 2022 as well. With Forgotten Land's release drawing near, Nintendo gave fans a quick teaser of what to expect in the upcoming game with a free demo.
This demo of Kirby and the Forgotten Land was shadowdropped on the Nintendo eShop, where it gave fans the chance to try out not only how Kirby plays in this new 3D environment, but also some of the levels and abilities that will be in the full game. These include the new way that Kirby's copy abilities work, as well as the brand-new Mouthful Mode. However, some players have discovered a very cute Easter Egg while playing the demo.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land Overview Trailer Reveals New Gameplay and Features
This Easter Egg can be found upon taking control of Kirby, whereupon pressing the Up-button on the D-Pad of the Switch controller, Kirby will wave in the direction he is facing while saying «Hi!» This can be repeated many times with a few different voice clips that can be cycled through. This cute Easter Egg is likely a reference to Super Smash Bros. where pressing a button will make him do a similar taunt, waving his arms while saying «Hi» to the audience.
