Musical artist Kate Bush reacts to Stranger Things season 4 reviving her 37-year-old song, «Running Up That Hill.» After several years of anticipation, Netflix's Stranger Things season 4 released the first batch of episodes last month, returning viewers to the horror sci-fi world the show has become known for. The new season has been a massive hit for the streamer, and most critics agree that the show is once again firing on all cylinders, upping the horror and the action (and the budget) from previous seasons.
Stranger Things season 4 has brought with it a new villain in the form of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), a supernatural being of the Upside Down who, akin to Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street, can invade his victims' minds before killing them in the real world. After several gruesome deaths, Max (Sadie Sink) appears to be Vecna's next victim but, in one of the show's most highly-praised episodes, her friends are able to bring her back from the Upside Down using her favorite song, 1985's «Running Up That Hill» by Kate Bush. The song's prominence in the show has resulted in a major surge in popularity, with «Running Up That Hill» reaching the #1 spot on iTunes.

Now, in a new statement posted to her website, Bush has responded to the show's revival of her hit song. The 63-year-old singer-songwriter writes that Stranger Things has given her song a "new lease of life" and that the song's newfound popularity is "all really exciting!" Bush thanks the fans around the world for reviving «Running Up That Hill» before revealing that she's a fan of the show herself and that she will "wait with bated breath" for part 2 of Stranger Things season 4 in
