Even when facing death, the Joker just couldn't pass up one final dig at Red Hood. But there may be a kernel of truth in the final insult Clown Prince of Crime dishes out that some fans might agree with.
What else can be said about the brutal death of Jason in the seminal «Death of the Family» story arc? With a crowbar beating, some well-placed explosives, and an 800 number thousands of fans eagerly dialed in to, the fate of the second Robin was sealed. For years, Jason's murder hung over the Bat-Family like a cloud, his death serving as a warning that crimefighting in Gotham could have the most serious of consequences. However, since returning, Jason donned his hated enemy's previous identity of Red Hood and has been trying to put the traumatic experience behind him.

Unfortunately, the man Jason hates more than anything believes that to be a fool's errand. Red Hood was finally given the opportunity to end the Harlequin of Hate for good in Brian Azzarello and Alex Maleev's Suicide Squad: Get Joker #3. After Jason's mission goes off the rails thanks to a trigger-happy Task Force X, he finally gets the one-on-one confrontation he'd been preparing for. With a gun in hand, Red Hood approaches Joker, who appears ready to go out while staring at the sun on the horizon. The Joker starts a dialogue with the hero, which quickly devolves into the clown laying down a pretty heavy accusation. According to the Joker, nothing Red Hood has done since coming back to life has mattered, saying that the only time Jason was ever important was after the Joker murdered him.
