Jesse McCartney has confirmed in a recent interview that he has no idea if Roxas or Ventus will appear in Kingdom Hearts 4, as he doesn't seem to know that a new game is even in development.
Despite having been announced two years ago now, we know remarkably little about Kingdom Hearts 4 beyond the fact that a large portion of it will take place in Quadratum and that Star Wars appears to be one of the Disney worlds that Sora will visit. So far, the only returning characters that we know are making an appearance are Sora, Donald, Goofy, Strelitzia, and unknown members of Organisation XIII.
Despite the fourth Kingdom Hearts marking the start of a new trilogy and seemingly focusing on Sora more than ever before (our boy has never been alone like this!), fans are still hoping that classic original characters like Riku, Roxas, Ventus, Terra, Kairi, and more are going to show up at some point during the story. Sadly, the actor behind two of those iconic Kingdom Hearts figures has no clue if that will be the case.
During a recent interview with Popverse to discuss his new EP, All's Well, McCartney was asked about his voiceover work as Roxas and Ventus in Kingdom Hearts. Beyond revealing how McCartney's feelings towards the series have changed over time after seeing how passionate fans are about it, he also made an interesting comment about the possibility of Roxas and Ventus returning.
When asked about what it was like to return for Kingdom Hearts 3, McCartney noted how much bigger Kingdom Hearts has become over time, expressing how "exciting" it is to be a part of it and to be on that journey. He then says that he hopes that Square Enix is making another game, and that he has "no idea if they're going to" since they never tell him about it (something that Goofy's voice actor, Bill Farmer, has expressed in the past).
