Jeremy Renner reacts with an MCU reference to Chris Evans' selfie from his new film Ghosted. As part of the original Avengers roster as Clint Barton and Steve Rogers, the pair appeared in several Marvel Studios films until Avengers: Endgame, where Evans wrapped up his stint in the franchise. But they've remained friends since then, as evidenced by their fun back-and-forth on social media.
After the Infinity Saga, three of the MCU's founding heroes have officially retired from their superhero gigs. Both Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) died to defeat Thanos (Josh Brolin). Rogers's fate, however, remains bleak. He went back to the '40s to live a life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), but his current status in the timeline is uncertain. Meanwhile, Renner's Hawkeye is among the other half who are still active in the universe, alongside Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Many were convinced that he would meet his end on Disney+'s Hawkeye, but that wasn't the case.

Despite their current MCU fates, Renner and Evans prove that they're still good friends. Evans shared a selfie wearing a purple shirt. Given this, Renner didn't miss the chance to point out that the Captain America actor is channeling Hawkeye since it's the hero's signature color.
