RuneScape is getting a brand-new archaeology themed update. Developers Jagex announced their latest update, Daemonheim Dig Site, featuring added content for one of the most iconic areas in the classic MMORPG.
The surface of Daemonheim has received a complete graphical overhaul for the first time since it launched in 2010. Additionally, the area has a new mini-dig site, the eighth dig site introduced to the game thus far. Archaeology has become one of the most popular of RuneScape’s 29 skills since its introduction in 2020, so players eager to hunt for treasure will find no shortage of artifacts, relics, and mysteries to dig up.
To access this challenging new dig site, players must have reached level 73 in Archaeology. They must also have freed Skaldrun from the Frozen Floors in Dungeoneering. Once these requirements are met, players can discover the new Dragonkin Archaeology collection and unlock a new Relic Power, Spirit Weaver. This Power allows players to customize the training of their Summoning skill by choosing to either maximize XP gains or optimize time efficiency.
In addition, players who have met the requirements will also be able to explore new belowground levels, The Warped Depths. Those who choose to explore the Depths may find and unlock two new items. The first, Balarak’s Sash Brush, offers new passive boosts and increased excavation success for Archaeology. The second, Skeka’s Hypnowand, allows for new approaches to different styles of hunting.
