We haven't heard much about Monolith Productions' Wonder Woman game since it was announced in 2021 at The Game Awards, but a new job listing reveals that it will have some live-service elements.
As spotted by Podcast Now, Warner Bros. Discovery has an opening on its careers page for a lead software engineer that, under "The Nice to Haves" tab, asks for people with "Experience helping maintain a live software product or game".
Warner Bros. said yesterday that it plans to keep "transforming [its] biggest franchises" into live-service games. We've seen evidence of that with Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, a major shift from the days of the Arkham series, so it makes sense that Wonder Woman would follow.
There's no other mention of live service elements, so it's unclear how they will take shape in the final product. All we can do at this point is speculate. However, it's worth noting that unlike Suicide Squad and Gotham Knights, Monolith isn't adapting an ensemble team, but a solo hero.
There's also no mention of multiplayer elements, and it has been described in the past as a single-player game. How it will incorporate these live service elements is then even more unclear.
There is a silver lining in this job listing, at least. It confirms rumours that Wonder Woman will utilise the Nemesis System from Middle-Earth: Shadow of War which Warner Bros. unfortunately trademarked two years ago.
