Apple has just announced a new launch event for September 7 and while the secrecy is maintained, it seems we could be seeing the new iPhone 14 series at this event. Along with the iPhone 14 series, the September 7 “Far Out” event is also likely to announce the Apple Watch Series 8, its Pro version, and a new update to the Apple Watch SE. We could also expect the new Apple AirPods 2nd Gen announced at the event, and if Apple finds enough bandwidth, we could also be seeing a new base iPad at the event.
However, the product that most of us are interested in the most is the iPhone 14 series and the rumours suggest some big upgrades overall. The iPhone 14 series will have four models but one of them will be a brand new version of the iPhone. Moreover, the iconic Pro variant of the phone will finally get rid of the infamous notch, which could be the biggest fashion statement from Apple over the last few years.
This year, Apple will stick to its usual four model lineup for the iPhone 14 but with a twist.
The iPhone 14 will be the standard new iPhone this year, although it may not entirely have “new” components. The iPhone 14 is rumored to have the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13 Pro, and that could help Apple in keeping the price as low as $799 for the base 128GB variant. The battery capacity is also expected to grow and we could see support for a faster 30W wired charger. There are rumours of a 90Hz refresh rate display as well, although this change seems unlikely.
