Each week, we scour the internet for all things indie MMO-related, so you don’t have to. This week, we celebrate three years of reporting indie MMO news. Games have come and gone, and we have been here to keep you updated. This week, Palia was acquired by Daybreak Games, Soul Kingdoms looked back at its development history, and Broken Ranks prepared for a mobile test. Plenty of other stuff is also going on, so let’s quit wasting time and get started with this week’s Indie MMO Spotlight.
The next Minor Test has been delayed again, this time to Thursday, July 18th. We will get a devblog on July 11th that will go over the new features players will see in the coming test.
Closed Alpha 2 will begin on July 8th. The test will be the players' first chance to try out the Empire system. The test should also have updates to previous content based on player feedback.
Ahead of the test, Clockwork Labs has introduced the Supporter Badge. The badge is priced at $20 and provides guaranteed alpha access, a unique title, and 25000 Hexite Shards.
Whitemoon Games is almost ready to begin tests for the mobile version of Broken Ranks. A recent dev post states that the test will check “how a narrow group of players reacts to every element of the game.” The test will focus on the launcher, login, character creation, and all facets of the UI.
The changelog for the upcoming Closed Beta Test has been posted. The test is open to players with an Ember Sword account who have purchased Ember Sword land, have $EMBER badges, have at least 5000 EMBER tokens, or have been accepted into the Creator Program.
Patch 3.2.0 was deployed on Thursday. The patch includes new UI elements and new sound and visual effects.
A new update has been pushed to the public test realm. The launch notes contain a large number of new features, bug fixes, and several known issues the team is still working through.
