A new mod for finally makes space travel as simple as players have always wanted. One of the aspects of that players were looking forward to the most was space travel, with the game boasting thousands of different planets to visit, but both of these aspects ended up falling short of player expectations. Traveling can be difficult, especially when each part of flying through space takes a handful of cut scenes to get rolling. Thankfully, mods can help ease the pain of traveling and make it as immersive as everyone was hoping it would be in the first place.
Thanks to RealityIDR on Nexus Mods, space travel can finally become a comfortable experience for fans. This mod, known as Astrogate, has a variety of different options and modes for the ship's navigation. The autopilot feature allows players to step away from the controls and roam their ship while it's being piloted towards a chosen point.
«Supercruise» lets players set the speed of their ship automatically, so it cruises at that same speed without any input from the player. Lastly, is the «Surface Landing and Takeoffs,» letting players remotely launch and land their ships. All of these combined make for smooth and streamlined space travel in.
More Starfield content is in the works, as confirmed by Bethesda's Todd Howard, with hopes for many more expansions to come.
Other aspects of the Astrogate mod include different modes for the autopilot. While on autopilot, players can choose between Standard, Intersystem, and Distance. Standard allows autopilot between the planet and its moons. The ship will automatically stop when it gets within range of the planet or moon and will let players land the ship remotely. Intersystem takes players between star systems and will make sure the player is piloting the ship before the jump is made to the other star system. The Distance mode gives players the opportunity to manually input how far they want to travel and will grav-jump them within seconds.
