Sounds like Idris Elba is plotting his return to the DCEU. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he is currently working on something with the film and comic book company. While he didn’t elaborate further, all signs point to a return of his Suicide Squad character.
In promoting his upcoming thriller Beast, Elba sat down with Fandango reporter Erik Davis. During the interview, Davis asked what projects the actor had in the works and whether he might show back up in the Marvel and DC universes. In a surprisingly candid response, the actor shared that he has “a really big thing cooking for DC right now”.

With no elaboration on what that “really big thing” is, all we can do is speculate. Obviously, it would make the most sense for Elba to return as the DC character he played before, Bloodsport. The antihero played a main role in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad last year. Considering the success of the film, plus the success of the Peacemaker spin-off, all signs currently point to a Bloodsport return.
Of course, Elba could be taking on the mantle of a whole new character. It's not uncommon for actors to play multiple roles within the expansive world of comic book movies. Even Elba has pulled double duty in the MCU playing both Heimdall in the Thor films and Moreau in the less popular Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
