Hulu users are getting a free, but limited-time perk. The video streaming service is partnering with Microsoft to offer subscribers three months of free access to Xbox's PC Game Pass.
On Thursday, Hulu announced(Opens in a new window) the deal, which is available for US subscribers still new to the Xbox Game pass experience.
“The offer is available for redemption via hulu.com/pcgamepass(Opens in a new window) through July 23, 2022 and gives members access to over 100 high-quality games on Windows PC including Minecraft, Microsoft Flight Simulator, iconic Bethesda games, new day one titles, and the EA Play on PC catalog,” Hulu said.
In case you don’t know, PC Game Pass represents Microsoft’s effort to create a Netflix-like game service for the Windows platform. Users can download any of the games available in the ever-changing catalog, and play them at a mere cost of $9.99 per month.
The current(Opens in a new window) game catalog for the PC platform spans over 400 titles. So it represents a good deal if you’re gaming on a budget. However, the Hulu perk only applies to PC Game Pass, not Xbox Game Pass, a similar monthly subscription service designed for the Xbox console.
Hulu announced the PC Game Pass partnership as part of its “Hulu Friends with Benefit” initiative, which tries to add more value to a subscription beyond just video content. Back in November, Hulu raised the price for its “Live TV” plan much to the chagrin of users.
If you don’t have a Hulu subscription, you can try(Opens in a new window) PC Game Pass for the first month at the cost of only $1. After that, Microsoft will charge you the standard $9.99 monthly fee.
