A new reimagining of the Incredible Hulk perfectly encapsulates what it is that makes him so angry. The Hulk's immense rage defines his character. It causes him to go berserk and cause unrelenting destruction, and the angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes. This has resulted in some of the worst Marvel villains getting the beatdowns they deserve, but it has also created its fair share of problems for heroes and innocents as well. Fans have often questioned, why exactly is the Hulk so angry in the first place?
There are a couple of reasons to explain why Hulk is so mad. One explanation provided by the Watcher in 1977's What If...? #2 states that Hulk is angry because he knows he should be smarter. This makes a certain degree of sense. To have the genius intellect of Bruce Banner but being unable to access it would be understandably frustrating. It would be like forgetting something that's still on the tip of your tongue. This actually goes in line with another theory that explains Hulk's anger: because he's a child throwing temper tantrums.

This idea is taken literally in the most recent Demon Days story by Peach Momoko and Zack Davisson. At the end of Demon Days; Rising Storm, the villain Ugin summons a sickly-looking child named Halbo. His skin is tinged green, and he is bound with a chain around his neck and a tag on his belly. Ugin removes the tag and gives one instruction: "Halbo, smash." The child transforms into a Hulked out versoin of an oni — a demon from Japanese folklore — complete with tusks, horns, and purple loincloth.
