Warning! Spoilers for Hulk #4 by Marvel Comics
In a world where Bruce Banner wasn't changed into the Hulk, and the Gamma Bomb tests that turned him into a monster were successful, the Marvel Universe is in complete chaos. In a new preview forHulk #$, it's revealed why the Jade Giant is the most important and greatest superhero in the Marvel Universe, as, without him, the world would have been thrown into complete and utter chaos.
Doctor Bruce Banner became the Hulk after being exposed to Gamma Bomb radiation while attempting to save the life of Rick Jones during dangerous scientific tests. Unfortunately, the radiation would transform Banner into a monster, with it later revealed he actually died and was brought back to life by the Green Door. Banner has been an important member of the Avengers and is a key Marvel Comics hero as the Hulk. However, in his current ongoing series, the Hulk just saw what would happen if he never turned into a monster.

In a new preview for Hulk #4 (H/T Monkey Fighting Robots) by Donny Cates, Ryan Ottley, Cliff Rathburn, Frank Martin, and VC's Cory Petit, the Hulk learns the truth about the alternate reality he ended up on after going through a pocket dimension. In the new world, the Gamma Bomb test was a success and Banner never became the Hulk. However, President Thunderbolt Ross used the bombs to start a war that set of a series of gamma mutations across the world. Not only that, but their version of Tony Stark died after drinking himself to death after Stark Industries went under (who needs weapons when you have Gamma Bombs) and the X-Men were exterminated in the fallout of the bombings.
