The Dark Assembly is a unique feature in Disgaea 6 that permits the player to utilize various gameplay upgrades or temporary bonuses for their party members. Those familiar with past titles in the Disgaea series might recognize this recurring system under a different name. For example, the Dark Assembly was known as the Dark Senate in Disgaea 4 and the Strategy Assembly mechanic in Disgaea 5. Nevertheless, they all function in identical ways, granting the protagonist access to altering in-game mechanics by attempting to pass a Proposal.
Proposals are fixed requests featured in Disgaea 6's Dark Assembly that the players can select to receive in-game modifications by spending a currency known as Mana. Not to be mistaken with the Special Points used for skills, Mana is the primary currency for purchasing Proposals and is earned by defeating enemies and objects, similar to EXP. Therefore, the more «potent» a Proposal is, the more costly the Mana expense will be. For instance, changing the controllable character in the hub area will cost 0 Mana, but if the player wishes for the Rosen Queen Co. to stock higher quality items, they must spend 30 Mana.

Naturally, the more game-changing Proposals will use a much higher cost of Mana in this JRPG. For example, using 5,000 Mana to select «Gimme Triple EXP!» will triple the EXP earned on the next map, a significant bonus for power-leveling characters. As the protagonist progresses further through the main story, more Proposal options will become available in the Dark Assembly in Disgaea 6.
