How to "Gear Up" Quickly in MoP Timerunning at Level 70
Hit level 70? Here's how to «Gear Up» your character in order to have enough power for Heroic raids and eventually Mythic Siege of Orgrimmar!
Fresh Level 70 Scaling
Players have noticed that the Fresh Level 70 scaling is really rough compared to the tuning of the raids. Lower levels are doing more DPS and are more survivable in both raids and dungeons than fresh level 70s.
However, the potential for Level 70s is unlimited and players can scale past the damage output of low levels by having more Tinkers, stats from Threads and Gear Upgrades.
Jewelry and Trinkets
While leveling up to level 70, you'll notice that you will have receive no Trinkets, Rings or Neck pieces. There is only one of these pieces and they drop from specific achievements:
Note that these achievements are not account-wide, so subsequent characters will have to earn them again.
Trinkets
- Timerunner's Idol is awarded from Timerunner
Reach level 70 with a Timerunner.
- Timerunner's Beacon is awarded from Escalation
Complete any 3 of 6 faction war questlines.
Rings
- Timerunner's Ring is awarded from Heroic: Pandaria Scenarios
Complete all Pandaria scenarios on Heroic difficulty.
- Timerunner's Seal is awarded from Heroic: Pandaria Dungeons
Complete all Pandaria dungeons on Heroic difficulty.
Neck
- Timerunner's Amulet is awarded from Pandaria Raids
Complete all Pandaria raids on Normal difficulty.
Thus, in order to get all the pieces of gear, you'll need to do the following:
- Reach level 70
- Complete all Heroic dungeons
- Complete all Heroic scenarios
- Complete all normal raids
With the current scaling, a lower level character will be much stronger than a fresh level 70. These achievements are not account-wide, so you'll have to play the character you want them on, but if you have friends and they want to help, you can do low level runs! Alternatively, you can queue LFG and hope for some low level characters.
