How to book LPG Cylinders online without Internet: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has partnered with UltraCash Technologies, a payment solutions platform, to offer voice-based online LPG cylinder booking service, through which customers can make payment and book a cylinder online without the need for a smartphone or internet connection. Now BharatGas subscribers can easily use a feature phone to call up the agency and both make advance payment and book the cylinder. The new service launched by BPCL comes shortly after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) launched the UPI 123Pay service on March 8, through which users can transact digitally without the need for a smartphone or internet connection. At the time of the launch, the RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said, “The launch of UPI 123Pay makes the facilities under UPI now accessible to that section of society which was so far excluded from the digital payment landscape. In that way it is promoting financial inclusion in our economy”.
The new service by BharatGas is an Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), where users can dial a number to interact with the company’s automated system and both book a cylinder and make a payment, without ever needing to access a digital interface. With a large number of population, especially in rural areas, still using feature phones, this initiative can help those BPCL consumers book LPG cylinders online more efficiently.
