The aftermath of the death of Frost Snow in The Flash season 8, episode 14, «Funeral For A Friend» led to a twist involving Frost's sister, Caitlin, and a mistake that negated the episode's lesson. Most of the episode was devoted to examining how the individual members of Team Flash honored their fallen friend, showing that there are many ways to grieve a loved one and move on. Yet despite giving a touching eulogy for her younger sister, Caitlin was jarringly shown to have rejected this lesson and moved forward with a plan to bring Frost back to life in the episode's final scene.
Originally known as Killer Frost, Frost took on a life of her own in The Flash season 7 after she and Caitlin were separated into two distinct beings by the twisted technology of the Mirror Monarch after a lifetime of sharing a body. Working as an aspiring artist when she wasn't a superhero, Frost took her duties as a hero seriously, extending her life-long mission to protect her sister to encompass her found family in Team Flash and the whole of Central City. This led to Frost taking the lead in the team's efforts to investigate the Cold-Fusion Killer, ultimately sacrificing her life to stop the murderous rampage of the villain Deathstorm once and for all.
