NIghtfall activities in Destiny 2 are pretty versatile, able to offer something to nearly every type of player. For those who want a more casual experience while trying to earn exclusive loot, players can opt for these specialized strikes on the lower difficulties. However, those who want a major challenge can tackle this activity on the Master or Grandmaster level difficulties, not only raising enemy levels, but adding challenging modifiers and the chance at Adept level loot.
Modifiers in these Nightfall strikes add another unique layer to this ritual content, often times introducing some sort of challenge for players to overcome. Depending on the difficulty level, players will likely see Champion level enemies, elemental damage that is stronger for and against, as well as modifiers that give enemies unique behaviors such as dropping mines on the ground when they're defeated. Starting in Season 16, Bungie is making some big changes to this system to help freshen up the activity.
Bungie Reveals Two Nightfall Weapon Rewards for S16
In the latest blog update, Bungie announced plans to update Destiny 2 Nightfall strikes and trying to iron out some of the more inconsistent and frustrating modifiers. Starting at the Hero difficulty level, Bungie is removing damage and enhanced boss attack modifiers in favor of the new Acute burn. This increases player damage taken from a specific element by 50% while also boosting player damage done by 25%. Considering most Nightfalls already had a 25% damage boost mod, this is basically an increase of 25% in both directions for a particular element.
